Decorating With Stone -part 1-

Stone Types
We have seen some types of termination of the stone. Now let’s do a quick and brief review of the types of natural stone that we use when building and decorating.
· Granite: Granite is a rock of gray or pink, but sometimes, exceptionally, is shown in red or pale green. It presents a variety of colors and structures, as well as grain size and textures. In general, the granitic rocks form deposits ranging from small dams, laccolith, etc.; To huge batholiths (such as the Scandinavian shield, for example).
The granite, usually present with an appearance “dotted” or intense swirling colors. This is due to the large amount of minerals they contain. It is unusual that the termination is polished, but this does not mean that they can not also get other endings, such as the torch burning or warm (the latest fashions the demand, which is why manufacturers can not begin unless to offer).
Granite can be used in almost any project we are undertaking, but more often is that it is used for construction, especially in new business offices and residential complexes.
What you need to take into account, at least have a little care, is that the granite can be a very slippery surface when polished. This is overcome by the use of patina that we talked about earlier.
The granite has almost as many varieties as places of origin, so decided may not be an easy task. Purchased in the form of large sheets or tiles and, as with most products on the market, higher quality increases the price, so we trust those granites that are overly expensive. It is likely that their quality is very good. Likewise, the granite has prices ranging from very little to a lot of money (depending on many factors, such as color, rarity and provenance of the stone), and is much cheaper if bought in large quantities. The more expensive granites are usually those shades of blue.
