While most people treat them as a game and even use them as fun competition at parties and the like, they can actually be educational. Find an online quiz games or trivia site and pick a category that you have some knowledge about. If you fancy yourself a sports enthusiast then that’s a great place to start. Narrow down the topic to a sport or team you know and take the test.

What is your score, 60% ? Okay, now take another quiz in the category and then another. Unless you’re a sports fan who is a walking sports encyclopedia you probably didn’t get 100% on each. Now go back and redo the three tests in the same order. Bet you got close to 100% this time.

This type of rote memorization works, and it works fantastically if the subject is something your like and really want to know about. Keep this up and increase your knowledge base until you’ve about mastered all the available quiz games in your specialty. Now you are ready for the next time someone starts making conversation about sports trivia, you will be in command.
