· Slate: Slate is a finely laminated sedimentary rock which is dominated by clay particles. You may also contain small fragments of quartz, feldspar, calcite and other minerals. It has a very fine grain and is formed by regional metamorphism of low intensity, from those molecules that we mentioned. The world’s leading exporters of slate are England (with its oil fields in Wales), United States and France. The main feature of the board is the perfect exfoliation or slate.

Not too long ago, the only use (almost) that had the board was to perform for chalk boards, pool tables, in laboratories and for shingles or roofing tiles.
